AFRO-fusion songbird Feli Nandi and Mutare based gospel songstress Dorcas Moyo are billed to perform at Manicaland Motoring Club next month in what is going to the club’s first solo family show.
The show is slated for August 24.
Manicaland Motoring Club chairman Vonesi Masanganise revealed this last Saturday at the in-house presidential pool tournament which was sponsored by the immediate past-president Patrick Matsanga and current president Greenmore Bhasera. Masanganise said they will host by themselves their first family show to raise funds for the club.
“We feel we have learned from show promoters that have organized the many high profile shows held here over the years and we can now also do the same by ourselves. We need the money to invest in our club and for the upkeep of our club,” said Masanganise.
He thanked Bhasera and Matsanga for sponsoring the in-house pool tournament as a noble gesture to unite club members and encourage members to support club activities. “Actually we are going to join the provincial pool league as Manicaland Motoring because we have noticed we now have a lot of good players and this sport is proving to be a unifier,” said Masanganise.
Pool is generally getting increased attention in Mutare and many other parts of the country hence the formation of several leagues countrywide. Manicaland Motoring Club hosted the Carling Black Label national pool finals seven years ago.
Masanganise said Feli Nandi and Dorcas Moyo are currently ridding high in the music circles so it will definitely be a top billing show. He said making it a family show is to allow those that cannot go out at night to also get the opportunity to enjoy live shows. “The cover charge will be $3 for children, $5 adults and $10 VIP. The show will start from 2pm to 9pm. This will definitely be the family show of the year in Mutare not to miss,” said Masanganise.
Dorcas Moyo launched her eighth album ‘Mvere Dzabvepi’ this year and has been one of the most consistent female artists since she started her musical career in 2006. The ‘Nguva’ hitmaker Feli Nandi whose real name is Felistus Chipendo, is no doubt amongst the most sought after female artists making waves in the country. The show pitting the two entertaining artists on one stage is certainly going to be memorable show.
