Minister Mugadza was impressed by the massive modern investment which he said by mere looking gives a facelift to the shopping centre, something that is needed at every business centre in this era. He applauded the vision by Dr Mugadza as a youthful health practitioner, and urged young professionals to plough back in communities they live in to augment development.

“This is not just a massive investment for your retirement but this is what we need as a country, seeing young professionals thinking big and investing in their communities. This is the only way to grow our suburbs and cities in line with our President’s (Emmerson Mnangagwa’s) 2030 vision of turning Zimbabwe into an upper middle income country,” said Min Mugadza in a side interview with Easterntimeszim (ETZ) after the official opening.

In his butchery, Dr Mugadza who also runs a farm in Mutasa district said most of the meat is coming from the farm as value addition and beneficiation. “Our beef, chicken and pork is coming from our farm. The future plan is to brand our own meat products and supply, but for now we will just sell here as we test the waters of market demands in terms of our quality before expanding our value chain,” said Dr Mugadza in side interview with ETZ.

Local disc jockeys (DJ’s) applauded the development as healthy to give opportunities for the growing number of club DJs in the city that all need gigs to make ends meet.

DJ Spy, real name Leslie Mwatongera, who was part of the official opening DJs line up said the touch of class at the leisure centre was long over due in Mutare which is a tourist destination.

“A lot of uppity visitors from Harare complained that Mutare lacked an upmarket leisure centre with an open air braai area and music, of which the outdoor garden here is well set up to cater for this.  As DJs we are also happy to have more clubs to perform at in the city. There has been growth of the entertainment sector in the past year, which is positive,” said DJ Spy.
