THE renovations at the new-look upmarket nightclub, Flavourtown, at Macs Shopping Centre in the low density suburb of Palmerstone in Mutare are now near completion after undergoing major facelifts over the past two-months.

The spokesperson of the club Tafadzwa Chakonda said they hope to officially open the new club end of this month, targeting a new clientele base and business approach under their old brand of Flavourtown. When the club underwent renovations in 2016, it rebranded to Live @5, but Chakonda said the return of their Flavourtown brand with a new plunge would turn Macs Shopping Centre to become the next best drinking and outing spot in the eastern border city.

“In our new business approach, the new-look Flavourtown will not only be the best place for a great night out for upmarket revelers, but it will also be a beer haven for the beer guzzlers as we will have our pub section that will sell beer at pump price from morning till late. For the gochi gochi (Braai) lovers our butchery to be opened soon will also have braai packs at affordable prices,” said Chakonda.

The new renovations which have extended the dimensions of the club, include a new VVIP section, modifications of the old VIP section, extension of the outside pub section to include a pool table and braai section, whilst the DJ booth is also being spruced up to become a glass-room enclosure. The well fenced, spacious and enclosed setup has also improved the security at the place to make it ideal to host live shows.

Chakonda said although final touches are being made, tonight (Friday) they will start the ‘Bottles and Models’ concept, as a precursor before their official opening show end of this month.

“This will be like a trial run for us. The bottles and models concept is done in elite upmarket clubs in Harare and we will be bringing it to Mutare. For every bottle bought, models who will be the waiting staff serve the buyer at their table with pluck cards that spell the buyers name. We will however host an official opening party when renovations are complete. Mutare is a tourist town, but it is starved of upmarket entertainment places and this will be our marketing niche,” said Chakonda.
