THE much hyped-up show bringing the multi award winning South African music sensation Makhadzi for the first time to Mutare has finally come. All roads will definitely be expected to lead to Manicaland Motoring Club tonight (Friday).

Patson ‘Chipaz’ Chimbodza

It will be yet another test of ‘real steel’ for renowned Harare based music promoter Patson ‘Chipaz’ Chimbodza who will be out to break his own highest crowd attendance record at Manicaland Motoring Club where he drew the biggest crowd ever of over 5000 people in October last year at a show that was headlined by Jah Prayzah. According to official ticket sales  the Jah Prayzah show sold 4730 standard tickets at US$10 and 350 VIP tickets at US$20. The celebrated music promoter confirmed that all is in place for the show and Makhadzi is expected to fly into Zimbabwe this morning.

“All the artists billed to perform have confirmed and Makhadzi will fly in Friday morning to Zimbabwe. Yesterday (Thursday) we already started setting up the security demarcations and barricades. They will be just like the last time but even better,” said Chipaz as he is fondly known in the entertainment circles.

He urged people not to buy tickets from street hustlers to avoid fake tickets and risk being turned away at the entrance where there will be tight security.

“Our tickets are only being sold at Chicken Inn and Nando’s outlets only. When one buys a ticket you leave your phone number that we will use to redeem the ticket so if you buy elsewhere the number will differ and the ticket becomes invalid.”

Makhadzi’s rise to stardom from a little know village Ha-Mashamba Tshivhangani in Limpopo Province to become a multi award winning artist by the age of 26 is an awe inspiring phenomenal story. The ‘Magear’ and ‘Milandu Bhe’ hitmaker which made waves as chart busters in 2022 is now a household name in the music circles in South Africa and across the African continent with some now calling her the Brenda Fassie of this generation because of her energetic performance and vivacious character as a musician. The late South African music icon Benda Fasie whose music career spanned from 1983 to 2004 when she passed away, rose fame and became a music goddess that became highly acclaimed internationally. She was known as the ‘Queen of African Pop,’ and just like the late Fassie, Makhadzi has often lived up to her billing wherever she performs.

Within a month of release, her new 2023 track Tsini Tsini’ featuring Fortunator and Mash K is already rocking the airwaves with over a million views on Youtube, showing her midas touch as a perennial hitmaker. Makhadzi whose real name is Ndivhudzannyi Ralivhona, is currently at the prime of her music career with many endorsement deals on her plate and the future looking more promising given her propensity of releasing chart busters on every album and being a top entertainer with her pulsating and fired up dance choreographs. Her debut album was in 2012 and now has 8 albums as of 2022.

Zimdancehall sensation Killer T

The show will also be headlined by the dynamic contemporary Afro fusion entertainer Andy Muridzo and Zimdancehall star Killer T, whilst other trending artists like Voltz JT, Levels and Fantan are also billed to perform. On the local front the likes of Assegai Crew of the ‘Kanyama karipi’ timeless hit song and Caff of the ‘Perfect to me’ chart buster will also curtain raise at the show. Muridzo and Killer T are top entertainers known to leave crowds eating from the palm of their hands at most shows.
