94 years old Gogo Julia Zisengwe from the high density suburb of Chikanga in Mutare, who is the widow of former Mutare Mayor, the late Alderman Solomon Zisengwe, received a special award at the 2025 NetOne Albun Honde Valley Marathon held last week Saturday.
She was recognised as the oldest participant that has been taking part in the 5km fun run marathon since its inception in 2023. The Tourism and Hospitality Industry Minister Honourable Barbra Rwodzi, the Minister of State for Manicaland Provincial Affairs and Devolution Advocate Misheck Mugadza and NetOne Chief executive officer Engineer Raphael Mushanawani presented her trophy and special award plaque.
81 years old Nelson Sigauke who passed on this year was also given a special award post posthumously in honour of his unwavering participation since the inception of the marathon. The award was received by his niece Talent Sigauke.
